Bothell's Canyon's Restaurant, a Happy Hour to Remember

Last weekend's plan A foiled when we got stuck in traffic and missed the Happy Hour cutoff time. That's okay though, because plan B worked out beautifully for us.

Originally, we planned to go to a Mexican restaurant, but a few things happened to kill that plan.

First, I wasn't ready when Hubby got home. I had been roasting garbanzo beans and they were taking longer than I planned.

Then, we had some delays with our kids.

Before we knew it, we were sitting at a dead-stop in bumper-to-bumper traffic on Bothell Everett Highway.

Hubby looked at me, disappointed and said:

"We're not going to make it."

Still, we tried. Once we got to the place, it was five minutes after the cut-off for their Happy Hour and we raced in to see if they would still let us get in on it somehow.

"No, sorry-Happy Hour was over at six," the hostess said.

"Okay, maybe next time," Hubby said and we walked out.

We sat in the car for a few minutes and searched on our phones for ideas.

Finally, I found a solution: Canyon's Restaurant in Bothell. We'd been there once before, which you can read about here. The only problem was finding their Happy Hour menu. I was able to find a few links that said it went till 7pm though, so we knew we had enough time. And, it was close enough to Mexican food to fit our theme for the night.

When we arrived, a smiling gentleman in dress clothes greeted us. We asked where seating was for Happy Hour and he said Happy Hour was over at 6pm. My heart sank.
