Earth Day celebrations at Dr. Maze's Farm and opening day at Root Connection are just a couple of things to do this weekend.

  • Where/When: 5-7:30 p.m. Fri, April 22 at .
  • Why Go: Start your weekend off by celebrating Earth Day with the Rotary Club of Woodinville. You'll enjoy six generous pours from five of Woodinville’s leading wineries, and light appetizers provided by Landau's Catering. Wineries include: Brian Carter Cellars, Castillo de Feliciana, DeLille Cellars, Dusted Valley & Elsom Cellars.
  • Pricing: $25 per person. Space is limited, register here. Proceeds from the event will benefit literacy and environmental education scholarships.


  • Where/When: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday at  in Redmond.
  • Why Go: If celebrating Earth Day by sipping wine at Molbak's isn't cutting it for you, be sure to stop by Dr. Maze's Farm for their Earth Day Weekend. Enjoy hayride tours of the farm, visit with the farm animals, attend a gardening class, or just get lost in the Maze.   • Cost: Admission is $8. In the spirit of Earth Day, visitors who arrive by bicycle will receive a free hay ride!

  • Where/When: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Fri, April 22 at  in Redmond.
  • Why Go: Help support the Root Connection's 2011 Season opening day by picking up a few plant starts for your garden or home. No "hot" greenhouses or growth stimulants here. The plant starts you buy from Root Connection are 100% organic. 
  • Cost: Admission is free.


  • Where/When: 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Sat, April 23 at the Sammamish YMCA.
  • Why Go: Looking for a family friendly way to celebrate Easter this weekend? Come on down to the Sammamish YMCA Eggstravaganza. There will be carnival games, bounce houses, community guests, the Easter Bunny and even a Patch booth. I'll even be there!
  • Pricing: The event is free. Parking is very limited, use the shuttles from Discovery Elementary, which will run from 9:45 a.m.-1:15 p.m.

  • Where/When: 10 p.m. - 2 a.m. Sat, April 23 at Munchbar in Bellevue.
  • Why Go: If rubbing shoulders with celebrities is on your to do list, make Muchbar in Bellevue your destination this Saturday night. Munchbar will be throwing Carmen Electra a birthday celebration all night long. 
  • Pricing: $10 cover (includes your 1st drink ticket) 21+ w/ID.

  • Where/When: 8 p.m. on Friday at the  in Totem Lake.
  • Why Go: If you don't already have tickets to Jane Monheit at the KPC don't bother trying, it's completely sold out. The next best bet for local live music is a rockabilly show at the Yuppie Pawn. The Hard Money Saints are a big name in the rockabilly world and are sure to put on a great show. Never heard of them? Check out this YouTube clip of them in action.
