Why Go: "The Laramie Project" was written in the aftermath of the 1998 murder of Matthew Shepard, in Laramie, Wyo. The murder attracted national attention to the issue of hate crime against gays and lesbians. All proceeds raised will benefit local and national organizations that support gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered youth.
