Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

  • Where/When: Opens on Fri, July 15 at the .
  • Why Go: For all the Harry Potter fans out there, you've probably been counting down the days for this premiere. So treat yourself, and watch this highly anticipated sequel to the final installment of the series in style at the Ipic Theater. The theater offers reclining chairs, pillows and blankets, and in-cinema food and beverage service for the first 20 minutes of each show. The theater also has a restaurant and bar with menus just as luxurious.
  • Cost: Tickets at Ipic range from $15 to $27. Prices vary depending on if you choose a 3d or 2d showing as well as premium or premium plus seating.

  • Where/When: 7 p.m. Fri, July 15 at .
  • Why Go: Pack a picnic, bring a blanket and come enjoy the summer with Redmond's Arts in the Park. The event will feature two entertaining performances by Leroy Bell and Doctor Funk followed by a fireworks finale! The fireworks show was originally scheduled to take place during last week's Redmond Derby Days. Read more about the rescheduled fireworks .

  • Where/When: 12 p.m. - 5 p.m. Sat, July 16 at the New Tasting Room (In the Hollywood Schoolhouse Tasting Area, next door to Purple Cafe)
  • Why Go: Help the William Church Winery celebrate the opening of its second tasting room this Saturday. You'll enjoy pairing its featured wines with a variety of antipasti cheeses, cured meats and tasty spreads with crostini. The featured wines include a double gold medal 2010 Viognier, a 2008 Bishop's Blend, a 2007 Cabernet, as well as other 90 point current releases.
  • Pricing: Free admission, no tasting fee. Opening day wine specials include wine club member pricing for all who purchase on Saturday and discounts of 20% off two or more bottles. 

  • Where/When: 5 p.m. - 10 p.m. on Friday, and 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at .
  • Why Go: This three-day festival brings a regional showcase of art, food and wine to Kirkland's waterfront. The festival's events and activities include artist showrooms, a boat show, a dog modeling contest, and a tasting garden with grilling demonstrations, wine tasting and even live music.
  • Cost: Tickets range between $15 and $30. Save some money by ordering your tickets in advance here.

 

  • Where/When: Doors open at 4 p.m., fights start at 6 p.m. on Sat, July 16 at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe.
  • Why Go: Looking to get a little more excitement out of your weekend? You may want to check out the MMA, Muay Thai and Kickboxing fights going on at Battle in the Barn this Saturday in Monroe.  Not sure what to expect at Battle in the Barn?   • Cost: Tickets start at $20.

 

  • Where/When: 7 p.m. on Sat, July 16 at Pine Lake Park in Sammamish.
  • Why Go: This weekend is shaping up to be a nice one again, so take advantage of the warm weather and do something outside. Like checking out the Seattle Shakespeare Company's production of MacBeth at Pine Lake Park. You'll be in for a night of great entertainment and it's also the perfect opportunity for you to have that picnic in the park you've been meaning to get to this summer.
  • Cost: Free.

 

2011 Fifa Women's World Cup

  • Where/When: 11 a.m. Sunday, July 17 at .
  • Why Go: The U.S. is on a roll and now travels to Frankfurt to take on Japan in the FIFA Women’s World Cup Final. Rooney's will be showing the game and has several TV's scattered throughout the bar. So even if you don't get the best seat in the house, you're sure to have a decent view. Go USA!
  • Cost: No cover.
