•Why Go: It’s summertime, and how can you beat music outdoors? Bring a picnic supper to enjoy. The concert series put on by the Upper Bear Creek Community Council offers music each Thursday through Aug. 11.

•Why go: Redmond Derby Days is celebrating its 71st anniversary in 2011. It’s a summer festival including a kids parade, grand parade, family entertainment stage, live music, bicycle Criterium race, food, carnival, beer and wine garden and fireworks finale.
