UPDATED: Power Restored to Woodinville

The northeast section of unincorporated Woodinville lost power at abput 12:30 p.m. and got it back just before 8 p.m. on Christmas.

A downed tree on Paradise Lake Road seems to be the reason for the Christmas Day power outage suffered by residents of Northeast Woodinville.

A tree took down a power line on Paradise Lake Road, just off NE Woodinville-Duvall Road in one of the wind gusts that roared through the area just after noon on Christmas Day, according to David Weed, Woodinville Fire & Rescue spokesman.

A representative from Puget Sound Energy said more than 14,000 people from North King County and around the Puget Sound were without power for the better part of the day.

Power was restored to Woodinville shortly before 8 p.m.
