Powerball Jackpot is Record $425 Million Wednesday: What Will You Do if You Win?

The current jackpot also has a cash value option of $278.3 million.

Saturday night's Powerball jackpot is a record $425 million after no one won Saturday's jackpot. Do you plan to purchase a ticket?

What would you do with the money if you won? Also, tell us if you're a first-timer, religious player, or part of an office pool and share your number-picking strategy.

Check for the winning numbers on the Powerball website after 8 p.m.

Powerball is a combined large jackpot game and a cash game. Every Wednesday and Saturday night at 7:59 p.m. Pacific Time, game officials draw five white balls out of a drum with 59 balls and one red ball out of a drum with 35 red balls. Draw sales cut off at least 59 minutes before the draw. Check for local cut-off time.

The current jackpot also has a cash value option of $278.3 million.

Players win by matching one of the 9 Ways to Win. The jackpot (won by matching all five white balls in any order and the red Powerball) is either an annuitized prize paid out over 29 years (30 payments) or a lump sum payment. Each ticket costs $2. If the winner chooses the annuity, the annual payment will be increased each year by the percentage set out in the Powerball game rules.

The second prize (won by matching five white balls in any order) is $1,000,000 paid in cash and any time you match the red Powerball, you win. The overall odds of winning a prize in the game are approximately 1 in 32.

Power Play is a special feature that allows a winner to increase the original prize amount. Powerball players winning any prize other than the jackpot will win a larger cash prize. The Match 5+0 prize with Power Play option is now worth $2,000,000. Note that any set prizes or Power Play prizes, including the Match 5+0 prize, may be reduced if wins exceed the available prize fund. The Power Play option costs $1 and must be selected when you buy your Powerball ticket.

I would invest it in projects that raise money for charity. Hopefully I could double or triple it and leave a company that continues to raise money for charity long after me.

Hello Mr. Francois and NSD School Board, I have been keeping an open mind about the choice ofRead More Wednesday as the early release day. I kept an open mind, but not so open that my brains fell out. I voted for Friday for a reason. Not to take my child out of school early or in hopes that teachers would see it as a day off, but because it made the most sense for my family. Wednesday wasn't a horrible day and was my 2nd choice. Personally, now, after reviewing others input, your input and doing some thinking on my own, I believe you made the wrong choice. Your parents have brains, we are educated and we gave you our opinion and trusted that you would actually use the poll data wisely. You failed us, therefore you failed our children. It is okay so say you made a mistake, that is what we teach our children. Please tell your parents you made a mistake and make Friday early release day for the new school year. Positively hopeful! I have lived in Woodinville for over18 years. For around 5 years after we moved there on any warmRead More summer night you could look up and see at least 3 balloons and many times 4,5,6 or 7 of them but that all stopped abruptly one year. The explanation we got was that the balloonist were following the French historical practice of awarding a bottle of champagne to any land owner who's land they happened to land on. Well, the state couldn't allow that since the balloonist had no liquor license. Don't you just love government?
