Woodinville Speed Study in Progress

Those black cables across the road indicate a speed study is going on.

Several people have asked why there are black cables seen stretched across 212th Avenue NE, NE 165th Street, and 216th Avenue NE in Woodinville. Those cables, which appeared Tuesday, are there to track car speed, according to a King County road crew worker.

"I'm not really sure why we're doing this study," he said, declining to give his name. "Usually it's because someone complained about people speeding. The speed limit here is 25."

East Ridge Elementary is just off 216th Ave. NE, one of the reasons for the 25 mile and hour speed limit. The streets are often used by drivers as a cut through to NE 133rd Street. More details to come.
