Duvall Sandblast Festival

Duvall Foundation for

the Arts Presents SandBlast: 2013
SandTennial

On Saturday and Sunday, July 20 & 21, you will find the

annual SandBlast Festival of the Arts at McCormick Park in Duvall, along the

shore of the historic and beautiful Snoqualmie River. This year’s “SandTennial”

pays homage to Duvall’s Centennial Celebration and features many endeavors into
the arts in addition to the professionally-directed, interactive sand sculpting.  We are honored with Master Sand Sculptor,

Kali Bradford’s return.  In August of 2012, Kali was awarded

fourth, out of twenty competitors, in the NW Sand Festival,

“Tournament of Champions” held in Federal Way, WA, and just last month she was
honored with third place out of a field of ten in the 1st “Sand Bash

Women's Master Sand Sculpting Championship” held in Fort Meyers Beach,

FL.  Kali
is a National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) recipient, and has been granted
awards on nine separate occasions in California, and on two occasions in
Washington, as an artist-in-residence.  A multi-media artist, Kali also paints,
writes poetry and teaches.

One of the featured artists

is Dan Cautrell, Festival Visual Arts Director, who has been creating

installations and most of the recognizable iconic themes for the SandBlast Festival
for over 10 years.  This year, Dan is one
of the artists exclusively selected to install a sculptural interpretation
honoring Duvall’s Centennial to be unveiled later this summer.   Visit Dan throughout the SandBlast weekend

in his booth of “Mixed Amazements”, including this year’s SandBlast print

entitled “Dancing in the River”.  We also
welcome the return of on-scene artist Joe Lee Davidson, in addition to this  year’s artisans to include: Janelle Lile,

painting/prints; Carman Komm, Mad Mosaics; Dawn Henry, Jewelry; Ashley Bohler,
Watercolor/Drawing; Becky Jeanes, Fish Prints; Cynthia Marker, Painting;
