Lee Champagne has been with FEMA for over 10 years. He has been serving as Chief of the Mobile Emergency Response Support (MERS) Detachment in Bothell WA, one of six Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) facilities located across the country to provide rapid situational awareness, emergency notification, command and control, communications, transportation and logistics in direct support to federal disaster response and recovery operations.

Prior to this position, he served as a Federal Coordinating Officer (FCO) in over 16 major federal disaster response and recover efforts, including Hurricane Katrina.
