With an international following, the couple behind the popular “Young House Love” blog appear at the Tacoma Home & Garden Show® on Friday, January 25.

Bloggers and best-selling authors John and Sherry Petersik have generated an international following as they share the adventures-and misadventures-of renovating an older fixer-upper residence in Richmond, VA.

The couple appears at the show Friday, January 25 with a special presentation for showgoers at 1 p.m. followed by a book signing of their New York Times bestseller, “Young House Love.”

John and Sherry will share some tips and advice on Do-It-Yourself projects that came out of their own home renovations, mistakes and all. Armed with a little bit of know-how and a lot of enthusiasm, they put their creative, common-sense spin on how to make the most of home projects of all sizes.

With millions of unique visitors, “Young House Love” grew from a little blog created to track the progress of the Petersik’s kitchen remodel for friends and family. After nearly five years of putting daily (and twice-daily) posts out there, it grew from a passion and a hobby into an actual job.

Their widely read blog shares with their readers some of the “home-wisdom” learned along the way. Some of the most popular projects include making no-sew curtains, painting kitchen cabinets and refinishing furniture. Other quick tips for the allusion of space and drama include painting a brick fireplace, going bold with built-ins and even raising the shower curtain height.

 Show hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday through Friday (January 23-25); 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday (January 26) and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday (January 27).

Admission to the show is $10.00 for adults, $8.00 for seniors (62 and older), weekdays only, and free to children 16 and under. Two Day Passes are $16.00 for adults and $12.00 for seniors. Weekday Discount Coupons are available online at www.otshows.com.

Hello Mr. Francois and NSD School Board, I have been keeping an open mind about the choice ofRead More Wednesday as the early release day. I kept an open mind, but not so open that my brains fell out. I voted for Friday for a reason. Not to take my child out of school early or in hopes that teachers would see it as a day off, but because it made the most sense for my family. Wednesday wasn't a horrible day and was my 2nd choice. Personally, now, after reviewing others input, your input and doing some thinking on my own, I believe you made the wrong choice. Your parents have brains, we are educated and we gave you our opinion and trusted that you would actually use the poll data wisely. You failed us, therefore you failed our children. It is okay so say you made a mistake, that is what we teach our children. Please tell your parents you made a mistake and make Friday early release day for the new school year. Positively hopeful! I have lived in Woodinville for over18 years. For around 5 years after we moved there on any warmRead More summer night you could look up and see at least 3 balloons and many times 4,5,6 or 7 of them but that all stopped abruptly one year. The explanation we got was that the balloonist were following the French historical practice of awarding a bottle of champagne to any land owner who's land they happened to land on. Well, the state couldn't allow that since the balloonist had no liquor license. Don't you just love government?
