Woodinville Repertory Theatre presents 'Wally's Cafe'

"Wally's Café" is a comedy about Wally and Louise Murdock, a New Jersey couple who buy a café in the middle of the desert, on the road from Los Angeles to Las Vegas.

Except that the café really isn't next to the road, but their main competitor is located right on the highway -- and is always doing great business.

The play centers on how Wally and Louise survive along with Janet, their one employee, who arrives on her way to Hollywood. She comes back when her Tinseltown dreams fizzle and stays until 1958.

Directed by Hjalmer Anderson, "Wally's Café" features local veteran actors Dan Niven and Melanie Workhoven as Wally and Louise. Newcomer Amy Gang is Janet.

The play was written by Sam Bobrick and Ron Clark. Last spring, the Woodinville Rep performed Bobrick's
"Passengers," about the characters who wander in and out of a
Midwestern bus station.

Performances are Oct. 4-5, Oct. 11-12, Oct. 18-19 and Oct. 25-26 at 7:30 p.m. Sunday matinees are at 2 p.m. on Oct. 6, Oct. 13 and Oct. 20.

Tickets: $18 online, $20 at the door. Opening night is "buy one, get one ticket free." We're serving rootbeer floats before our Oct. 18 show.
