Sustainable Redmond to Host 'Rainwater Tour'

The organization is teaming up with People for Puget Sound to discuss how some city initiatives are helping keep pollution out of local waterways.

Local grassroots organization Sustainable Redmond is teaming up with environmental nonprofit People for Puget Sound in hosting a "rain water community tour" at 6:30 p.m. Monday at .

The free, 90-minute tour will be led by experts on low-impact development who will discuss how polluted runoff affects people and communities. Participants will examine several solutions the city of Redmond has already implemented, such as green roofs, permeable asphalt and rain gardens.

After the tour, Sustainable Redmond will host an informal sustainability discussion at a local pub. The talk will center on the group's current and future projects.
