In addition our Sunday Service will be relocated from the Hall in Shoreline to our temple’s new meditation hall in Woodinville starting on September 30th, 2012
coinciding the Thai Ancestor’s day.  We would like to invite everyone to become a part of history inaugurating the first Sunday Service at the new meditation hall. The schedule remains the same starting at 9:30am. Phra Ajahn Sudanto from the Pacific Hermitage in Portland will provide the Dhamma Talk on this day.
In addition, we will have a breakout for Dhamma discussion in the afternoon for anyone who is interested.

Our last Sunday Service at the American Legion Hall in Shoreline will be on September 23, 2012.  We will have a thank you ceremony to the Board of Directors of the American Legion hall who have been supporting our Wat’s activities for the past years. Come join us to show our appreciation!

No More Friday Meditation Practice

We will no longer continue the weekly (Thai) meditation practice on Friday evening as it will be combined with the Sunday Service’s afternoon activities.   The Wednesday, weekly (English) meditation practice, will remain the same.

Sunday Service: where to go and what to do

Upon your arrival to the temple, please use the main door in order to join the activities in the hall.  However, if you bring food for meal dana, please walk to the left wing in order to drop food off in our kitchen.  Then, walk back to the front main door to get into the hall (the side door to the main hall will not be disturbed during the service).

In the morning, our volunteers will set up the cushion for your seating. Please fill up the front rows first so that we leave the back rows for those who come later.  This way, the service is not interrupted.

After the morning service is completed, please help take the cushion back to the store room located next to the main hall’s front door.

During arm’s offering, we will move to the activity room which is behind the main hall where we will give a meal dana.  Please orderly line up as marked.

To follow a simple path of Buddhism, the monastery would like to encourage everyone to prepare one’s own bowl or plate and utensil to use during luncheon.  The monastery’s new kitchen cannot support everyone’s use of dish washing due to septic tank capacity. Your  consideration to take the lunchware home for cleaning is greatly appreciated.  Thank you for helping us makes the world greener!

After lunch, you are cordially invited to come, read or check out a variety of Dhamma selections from our Book Exhibition Center.  Or you could join the
main hall for more practice or simply sit back and relax.  In the near future, the monastery will have more Dhamma activities in the afternoon.

Here are some additional tips that you might want to know.

    *
Please note that we do not allow any food or drink into the main hall.

  • We promote peace in the main hall (the hall with our great Buddha Image).  If possible, please follow “Noble silence” while you are in this hall.

  • Please take off shoes before entering the building.  We plan to provide shoes racks in the near future.  At the moment, please organize one’s shoes by forming a single line along the wall.

  • The monastery provides two bins in the activity room.  One is for a recycle bin and the other is for a trash bin. We hope that you would kindly place the items carefully according to the signs.

  • Donation box is in the main hall.  Our treasurer will be behind the counter on the left wing of the building for any questions or service you may have.

If you have any question, please feel free to ask our volunteers at the information room, located at the main door. Our volunteers are more than happy to guide you through all functions/rooms in this new building.

We’ve removed the ability to reply as we work to make improvements. Learn more here
