1962, 1963

When I was six or seven years old (which would've been around 1962, 1963), my family and I were at Cottage Lake, in the swimming area.  My sister was about 2 years old, and too little to swim so dad had taken her up to the playground.

Mom was sunning herself and I was swimming.  The swim area at that time had logs going around to separate it from boats, and on the far left side of the logs the water was filled with lily pads.  While I was swimming, I noticed some material floating in the water with long hair floating alongside.  I asked mom what it was.  She stood up to look, then started screaming.  Several people ran to the water, drug a little girl up to the shore, and started CPR.  I remember the color of her skin was gray.  People gathered around while others tried to save her.  The ambulance arrived, continued CPR, and with their lights on, but no siren, they slowly drove off with her.

My parents never once talked about her, but I've never forgotten her.  I don't think that she made it, but wonder anyway.  Most of all, I wonder what her name was, what her parents' names were.  It almost seems to haunt me, and I don't feel I will be able to let it go until I at least know what her name was, did she survive and what did she look like in life.

I have tried many avenues throughout the years, and no one seems able to help.  I'm wondering if you might have any information, or if you can point me in a direction.  Any help you can be would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks you so much.
