Wellington's Principal Human Hamster at Sounders Game
Wellington Elementary School Principal Bill Bagnall was one of two principals chosen from across the state to compete as a “human hamster” during halftime at the Sept. 29 Seattle Sounders’ soccer match against the New York Red Bulls. Competing against Kent School District’s Park Orchard Elementary School Principal Eric Richards, the two climbed into clear plastic spheres and maneuvered through an obstacle course on the soccer field. Bagnall came in second and won $1,000 for his school and a possible future player appearance.
PEMCO Insurance and the Seattle Sounders sponsored the competition organized by the Washington State PTA.
