Armed Man Taken Into Custody By King County Sheriffs in Woodinville

Man was purportedly suicidal.

A 50-year-old man was taken into custody by King County Sheriff's deputies shortly after 10:20 am Tuesday morning near NE Avondale Road in Woodinville, according to Sgt. John Urquhart. The man surrendered to sheriff's deputies while standing on a driveway near NE 132nd Street. The man's friend called law enforcement after he took his weapons and wandered off, Urqhart said.

"He had a rifle and a shotgun and took off. We got the call shortly after 9:15 a.m.," he said.

When sheriff's deputies approached the man he surrendered without any altercations, Urquhart said. The man's identity could not be released at this time.Β
