A man armed with a handgun robbed the Juanita Branch of the Wells Fargo Bank in Kirkland Wednesday at about 5:30 p.m. and escaped on foot despite a search by a K-9 unit, Kirkland police are reporting.
A suspect described as a white male 30 to 40 years old wearing a black half-mask pulled up over his mouth and nose along with a blue hooded jacket entered the bank when several employees and customers were present, displayed a handgun and demanded money, according to a Kirkland Police Department press release.
No one was injured.
The man was reported to have blue eyes, light colored eyebrows, and carried a black bag. He is described as approximately 5-foot-10 with a thin build. He left on foot but could not be found.
Officers were on the scene in within 90 seconds of being called, the news release said. A K-9 unit was called in but could not locate the suspect, and the investigation continues.
