A car crashing into a utility pole on 156th Avenue NE just north of NE Woodinville-Duvall Road at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday resulted in 942 households being plunged into darkness, according to Dorothy Bracken, spokeswoman for Puget Sound Energy. The outage affected mostly the Wellington area of Woodinville.

The non-injury accident took down a utility pole that had to be replaced, Bracken said. Power company crews were able to restore electricity to the majority of people within an hour of the accident by redirecting the power. Power was turned off to some customers while a new pole was being replaced, Bracken added. All power was restored by about 5 a.m. Thursday.
