Charges Filed Against Woodinville Man in Fatal I-405 Crash

Samuel C. Sampson, 27, faces charges of Vehicular Homicide, Vehicular Assault and Reckless Driving in last Thursday night's collision on I-405 in Bellevue that killed Ian Beckford, 22.

A Woodinville man has been charged with Vehicular Homicide, Vehicular Assault and Reckless Driving after last Thursday's fatal collision on Interstate 405, according to the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.

Samuel C. Sampson, 27, is accused in a Sept. 12 collision on I-405 in Bellevue that killed Ian Beckford, 22. Witnesses told Washington State Patrol that Sampson was allegedly weaving around traffic and driving at speeds exceeding 120 mph when his car slammed Beckford's car, according to the prosecuting attorney's office. According to court records, Sampson told troopers that night that he had been doing drugs in the days before the crash.

The four-car crash also injured Sampson's wife and two others. Sampson is being held in lieu of $1 million bail. His arraignment is scheduled for Sept. 30 at the King County Courthouse, according to the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
