Costa Rica Phone Scam, Forced Entry Residential Burglary – Woodinville Crime Report

Here is a list of some of the reported crimes in the City of Woodinville from March 25 - April 1.

1.  LARCENY- 13200 NE 201 CT.

Victim advised officers she suspected a friend who had been at her residence had taken her Kindle Fire eReader. 

2. LARCENY- 14100 NE 190 ST.

Victim stated she had her cell phone stolen from her unsecured locker while she was at work.

3. PHONE CALLS, INDECENT OR NUISANCE (NOT THREATS) - 17100 133rd Ave NE.

Reporting person advised officers that her mother has been receiving phone calls on her cell phone from different phone numbers. The callers state they are from different federal agencies and her mother has won a sweepstakes and she needs to send money to Costa Rica as "insurance" for the prize.  The reporting person stated she tried to stop the callers and now they are calling her and leaving harassing messages.

4. FRAUD, ALL OTHER - 14000 NE WOODINVILLE - DUVALL RD

Officers were dispatched to a fraud where a customer entered the store and presented a counterfeit $20 bill to pay for items.  The counterfeit bill was seized as evidence.  A follow up by Officers resulted in the suspect being identified and contacted.

5.  LARCENY- 14900 130 AV NE.

Victim advised he received a call from Washington State Patrol who advised they had recovered a wallet and contents belonging to him. The victim reported that the items had been taken out of his unsecured Chevrolet Tahoe three days earlier while it was parked in his driveway. 

6. LARCENY - 13200 NE 205 ST.

Victim advised she suspected a known friend who had been staying with her of taking her jewelry and clothing.  Victim was unable to give offices descriptions of the suspected stolen items.

7.  FRAUD, ALL OTHER - 19200 162 AV NE.

Victim advised officers unknown suspect(s) used her name and information in an attempt to open a Sears account. Victim stated she has never applied for a Sears card before.

8. LARCENY - 14200 NE 190 ST.

Officers were advised that unknown suspect(s) removed a catalytic converter off of a Toyota 4 Runner that was awaiting repair at the business.

9.  LARCENY - 18600 WOODINVILLE SNOHOMISH RD.

Officers responded to two vehicle prowls where unknown suspect(s) smashed the front driver’s window on both a Dodge Neon and a Toyota Tacoma that were parked together in the parking lot.  Loss was reported from the Toyota as a GPS, iPod, and a wallet and contents. 

10. IDENTITY THEFT - 14100 NE 183RD ST.

Victim reported unknown suspect(s) used his credit card to order items online. 

11. VANDALISM – 13900 NE 178 PL.

Victim reported an unknown suspect “keyed” her vehicle after a parking space dispute.  Officers identified and contacted the suspect who admitted he had damaged the victim vehicle.

12. THEFT, AUTO - 19000 156 AV NE.

Victim reported sometime over the past week unknown suspect(s) stole his 2008 Yamaha four-wheeler and a small kicker motor for his boat off of his property.

13. RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY- 15200 NE 201 ST.

Victim reported unknown suspect(s) forced entry into the residence and ransacked several rooms taking a laptop computer, cash, and prescription medicine.

14. TRESPASS - 20000 142 ST.

Officers on routine patrol located two suspect(s) who were removing metal from the dumpsters.  Suspect(s) were identified and written trespass warnings after officers were unable to locate anyone from the business.  

15.  VANDALISM - 20200 144 AV NE.

Reporting person advised unknown suspect(s) tagged two company trucks in the unsecured parking lot with spray paint.
