A Woodinville man was arrested on suspicion of vehicular homicide after a fatal rollover crash around 10 p.m. Thursday Sept. 12 on southbound Interstate 405, according to the Washington State Patrol.

According to Washington State Patrol reports, a 27-year-old Woodinville man who was arrested was driving a 2008 Audi RS4 in excess of 100 mph and struck a BMW in the rear. The BMW rolled and caught fire. The driver of the BMW, a 22-year-old Federal Way man, died at the scene, he said. His name has not yet been released.

WSP reported that troopers believe the driver of Audi may have been under the influence of drugs, possibly methamphetamine. The driver of the Audi and his passenger, a 25-year-old Woodinville woman, were taken to Overlake Hospital Medical Center for injuries, he reported.

Two other vehicles were also struck in the collision, though none reported serious injuries, he said. One of the vehicles, a 2012 Honda Ridgeline, was occupied by a 67-year-old Woodinville man and woman, and both were transported to Overlake Hospital for treatment. The driver of the fourth vehicle was uninjured and drove his car from the scene.

The freeway remained closed for seven hours after the initial crash as troopers investigated.
