Local Business Honors Woodinville Firefighter by Feeding Colleagues on Friday

Merrill Gardens The Creekside, a retirement community in Woodinvilel, will serve a catered lunch to the firefighters on duty on Friday as a way of honoring firefighter Matt Roodzant.

 

In honor of  Merrill Gardens Creekside (a retirement community in Woodinville) will be providing lunch for the staffing of the three Woodinville Fire Stations on Friday, Feb. 3. Woodinville firefighters will be attending services for their fallen firefighter that day and their normal duties at the stations will be supported by firefighters from the neighboring districts of Duvall, Bothell, and Redmond. 

The Creekside will be providing lunch at each station that day over the noon hour in a show of appreciation of the excellent service provided over the years to their residents. Lunch will consist of New York Steak, baked potato with all the trimmings, Caesar Salad, and desert.

Matt Roodzant was the firefighter on the scene in a home that had only days before been rented by Chad McKenzie, the Chef of the Merrill Gardens Creekside, following a transfer from Merrill Gardens of Tacoma. "Chad and his family are all safe and are very appreciative of the Woodinville Firefighters," wrote Richard Whaley, general manager of Creekside in an email to Woodinville Patch.
