Man Arrested in Woodinville Tuesday for Alleged Rape of 13-Year-Old Girl

The 28-year-old suspect was apprehended in the woods nearby.

King County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man suspected of raping a 13-year-old girl in Woodinville before dawn Tuesday morning. The suspect allegedly sneaked into a house on 174th Avenue Northeast and allegedly raped the girl at knifepoint, according to Sgt. John Urquhart, spokesman for the Sheriff’s office.

The Sheriff’s Office was notified at about 4:50 a.m. and deputies arrested the suspect near Bassett Pond near the 18000 block of Northeast 165th Street at 9:25 a.m. The 28-year-old suspect is known to the girl’s family, according to Sgt. Urquhart. The suspect will be booked into King County Jail for investigation of first-degree rape. Other than the sexual attack, the girl was not otherwise injured, Sgt. Urquhart added.
