Authorities have arrested a man and woman in connection with a Lakewood bar fight last week that resulted in a Woodinville man's death.

Lakewood Police confirmed Monday that Robert Dewayne Ancheta, 31, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree manslaughter, while girlfriend Tadehop Delores Vanevery, 33, was arrested on suspicion of rendering criminal assistance. Both were arrested in Puyallup.

The alleged attack occurred late Wednesday at the Last Call bar in the 7300 block of Lakewood Drive. Police say Anthony Vasquez, a 47-year-old Woodinville man, was playing pool and bumped into the suspect, who was also playing pool nearby. The suspect then punched the victim in the face. The man immediately went unconscious, fell and struck his head on the ground.

Vasquez taken to an area hospital and died two days later.

Ancheta left the bar with Vanevery, and authorities say the bar's surveillance camera captured their images. The suspect was identified and eventually picked out of a photo montage by a witness.

Both were arrested Monday around 2 a.m., at an address in Puyallup.  Detectives attempted to interview both of them, but they declined to make a statement.

"Ancheta was visibly surprised," that the victim had died as a result of his injuries, according to Lakewood Police.

Ancheta and Vanevery are expected to appear in court tomorrow.
