"Movember" Shave-Off Finale Throwdown Set for Woodinville, Area Firefighters

As "Movember" comes to a close, firefighters with mustaches from Woodinville and surrounding communities are planning to go out with a good old-fashioned throwdown, according to a post on the Kirkland Firefighters Facebook page.

In addition to Woodinville, firefighters from Seattle, Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond, Shoreline Northshore, Bothell, Duvall, Eastside and Mercer Island will all converge starting at 7 p.m. at Paddy Coynes Irish Pub in Seattle, for the Movember 2012 closeout event. The event is open to the public.

The Seattle Firefighters Pipes and Drums bagpipe band will be in the house and awards will be given, including Mr. and Miss Movember.

During November each year, "Movember" is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces, in the US and around the world. With their "Mo's," these men raise vital awareness and funds for men's health issues, specifically prostate and testicular cancer initiatives.

In 2011, over 854,000 Mo Bros and Mo Sistas around the world got on board, raising $126.3 million.
