Snowplow Gets Tangled in Downed Line

The driver got out safely after power crews verified that the line was dead.

Woodinville Fire and Rescue crews were busy Wednesday with weather-related calls, including responding to a snowplow that got tangled up with a downed power line in the Wellington area around 8 p.m.

The plow was working the area off of 156th Wednesday night when it got into the downed line, said David Weed, public information officer for the fire district.

An engine was dispatched, and the crew requested that Puget Sound Energy respond to make sure the power was off before the driver got out of the vehicle, Weed said.

The district will have its usual staffing overnight, Weed said, and isn’t planning to call in extra people. But it could get busy as temperatures drop and winds pick up, according to a tweet from the fire district.
