Teen Shot in Foot by FDA Security Guard Held on $10,000 Bail

The 15-year-old boy shot outside a federal FDA office in Bothell Friday is being held pending possible criminal charges, according to the Everett Herald.

The teen's bail has been set at $10,000 while investigators look at possible second-degree assault charges in connection with the incident, the Herald said. They boy was shot in the foot by a FDA security guard after an altercation in the parking lot.

Prosecutors have until Wednesday to file charges, according to the Herald.

The youth, a freshman at the nearby Northshore School District alternative high school called the Secondary Academy for Success, was taken to Kirkland’s EvergreenHealth Medical Center and treated Friday morning before being taken into custody for questioning.

The shooting occurred outside an FDA office or lab at 22201 23rd Drive S.E., a few miles north of Woodinville and about 20 miles northeast of Seattle.
