Witnesses Sought in Nasty DUI Crash Tuesday on I-405 in Bothell
A 39-year-old Seattle man was critically injured and is facing DUI and reckless driving charges after he lost control of his car and was broadsided by a semi on I-405 on Bothell, just north of Woodinville and a couple miles north of Kirkland.
Washington State Patrol detectives are seeking witnesses to a crash on Interstate 405 just north of Woodinville Tuesday afternoon in which an allegedly intoxicated driver of a car lost control and was broadsided by a semi truck.
The collision occurred in the southbound lanes of I-405 where the southbound on-ramp from State Route 527 merges with the freeway. Thatβs in Bothell, slightly north of Woodinville.
The driver of the car, a 39-year-old Seattle man, suffered critical injuries and was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He is facing DUI and reckless driving charges. The 49-year-old semi driver, from Seattle, was not injured.

The State Patrol says the man was driving on the southbound on-ramp from SR 527, also known as the Bothell-Everett Highway, when his car left the roadway, crossed the median between the on-ramp and the mainline, then entered the southbound lanes of I-405 and was hit broadside by the truck.
The crash backed up traffic on southbound I-405 for hours, well into the evening commute.
