Woodinville Firefighters Battle House Fire, Weather Thursday Night

Snow-covered and icy roads complicated firefighters as they fought a second-story house fire Thursday night. No one was hurt in the blaze.

Firefighters faced extreme weather conditions Thursday night as they battled a second-story blaze in the 15000 block of 147 Place NE in Woodinville. The house fire, caused by an electrical short in an upstairs bedroom, broke out at about 7 p.m. Crews from Woodinville, Bothell, and Kirkland responded to the incident.

“We had a few setbacks that were beyond our control like poor road conditions and access issues,” said Battalion Chief and Incident Commander Peder Davis. “This made for long walks by some firefighters who kept their vehicles out on the main road to avoid getting stuck. Given those setbacks, everyone performed efficiently and safely to bring the fire quickly under control.”
