Update: Woodinville High School on Lockdown While Authorities Search for Suspect

Update 4:30 p.m. Sept. 10: Woodinville Police Chief Sydney Jackson told Patch that the incident began after a Woodinville police officer came upon a suspicious vehicle near the high school and shortly thereafter saw a homeowner chasing him out of his house yelling at him.

She said the suspect got in his black pickup truck and refused to stop for the police.  A pursuit ensued with the suspect attempting to ram two police cars but then continued south on Woodinville Snohomish Road. The suspect drove into the parking lot of Del’s Truck Rental and bailed from the vehicle, Jackson said. The man then reportedly jumped the fence and ran across Hwy 522 into the woods.

"Due to the close proximity of the school, we advised to lock it down," Jackson said.

A King County Sheriff's Officer dog and helicopter were used to track the suspect, however, he was not found. The lock on the high school was lifted before 2 p.m., according to school officials and Jackson said police have no reason to believe there is any danger to public safety. Detectives are investigating potential leads.

KIRO 7 is reporting a description of the man as white and about 5 foot 8 inches tall.
