Woodinville Man Steals Water District Truck, Crashes it and Flees, Authorities Say

A 38-year-old Woodinville man has been arrested after stealing a truck, crashing it and leading authorities on a foot chase, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff's office.

A 38-year-old Woodinville man has been arrested after stealing a truck, crashing it and leading authorities on a foot chase, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff's office.

At about 3:30 a.m. June 10, 2013, a Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office deputy was driving along Highway 9 south of Lake Stevens when he passed a white Ford 350 truck that was damaged and dragging debris. 

Becoming suspicious, the deputy began to follow the vehicle into Lake Stevens, at which point the driver allegedly crashed the truck, abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot from the scene. The deputy, who happened to be a K9 handler, followed with his dog, catching up with the suspect and taking him into custody.

The King County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the crashed vehicle was a truck that had been stolen earlier from Woodinville Water District. 

The 38 year-old Woodinville man was booked into the Snohomish County jail for attempting to allude and resisting arrest.
