Woodinville Police to Host “Refuse to be a Victim” Training

The Woodinville Police Department will be hosting a free seminar on Oct. 29, 2013 that covers crime prevention and personal safety strategies. The seminar runs from 6-10 p.m. at the Woodinville City Hall Council Chambers (17301 133rd Ave. NE, Woodinville).

The workshop, titled "Refuse to Be A Victim" was developed by the women of the National Rifle Association of America (NRA) in 1993, in response to women nationwide who requested crime prevention and personal safety information. The program has evolved throughout the years and includes both women and men. The NRA continues to sponsor the seminar in conjunction with many other businesses promoting and teaching safety education. The seminar content will address mental preparedness, home & physical security, and automobile travel safety.

Residents or business owners in the City of Woodinville are welcome to attend.  The seminar is designed for small groups, so space is limited to 25 participants.

Pre-registration is required by Oct. 15.  To sign-up, contact Deputy Amy Jarboe by email, or phone at 425.489.2700.
