City Council This Week: Another Discussion on What to do With the Old Woodinville Schoolhouse

Trying to determine if you should attend the council meeting Tuesday night? Here is an overview of what's on the agenda.

Woodinville City Council members will once again discuss what to do with the Old Woodinville Schoolhouse on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at .

The future of the Old Woodinville Schoolhouse has been in debate since the city relocated city hall from the historic in 2001. A presented to the city council in early February revealed renovations to the vacant brick building could run as high as $3.5 million, and upwards of $5 million if 110 parking spaces are added. The city does not have the money to make the needed repairs and is considering whether the building could be rented or leased.

As a cost cutting measure, the Council will also discuss whether to stop video recording and rebroadcasting the Parks and Recreation Commission meetings. Currently, it costs about $300 to video record the meetings. Discontinuing  video  recording  of  the meetings  would  save  an estimated $2,000-$3,000 per year,  depending upon the number and  length of  meetings.
