The Woodinville group Concerned Neighbors of Wellington has claimed another victory in a series of housing development battles.
The latest application for development from PDI Properties (also known as Phoenix Development) would divide a 12.46 acre parcel of land located west of 156th Ave NE on the King County/Snohomish County line into just four lots.
In an email last week, CNW said they were pleased with the new development application, for the parcel known as Montevallo, for several reasons:
- It is in keeping with current R-1 zoning.
- Only 4 lots are proposed, instead of the original 23 lots proposed in 2006.
- No sewer is proposed for this development.
"CNW has successfully won the battle to maintain the current wooded character in this proposed development by keeping the R-1 proposal," the email said.
Montevallo is one of the two properties PDI is looking to develop in Wellington—the other is known as Wood Trails.
No public hearing on this application has been scheduled by the city since a zoning change is not being requested, but the city of Woodinville is taking comments through Dec. 4. Comments can be emailed to Erin Martindale at ErinM@ci.woodinville.wa.us.
