Downtown Development Plan Changes on Woodinville City Council Agenda

The council also will discuss letting the King County Sheriff's Office use space for deputies serving unincorporated areas.

Woodinville City Council members will discuss Tuesday night whether residents should get a chance for more comment on planned changes to the new for downtown and the Little Bear Creek Master Plan Area.

A city staff report will recommend reopening the public comments. (Click here for details on the changes.)

The council opened the public hearing for Ordinance No. 524 on May 17. The ordinance would amend six items in the recently adopted downtown development regulations.

•Also on the agenda is a move to allow the King County Sheriff’s Office to use city space to house up to 18 officers patrolling the unincorporated areas of the county. The Sheriff’s Office is reorganizing and consolidating its precinct offices, including the Kenmore Precinct, which serves Woodinville and surrounding areas.

The staff recommendation says the arrangement would benefit the city with a bigger presence of uniformed officers, time savings in transporting evidence and prisoners, and improved communications between Woodinville and unincorporated-area deputies.
