Elections Update: Scott Hageman First Candidate to File for City Council Seat

Hageman is running for reelection for the fourth position on the Woodinville City Council.

Only one candidate has filed so far for the three seats open on the Woodinville City Council as of 4 p.m. on Monday, Councilmember Scott Hageman is the first candidate for file for a seat on the Woodinville City Council, according to the King County Elections records.

Hageman has been a council member since winning his fist election in 1995, just two years after the city incorporated. He served as mayor from 2001-2003.

“I believe that Woodinville has a lot of upside living here and I want to be here for the next evolution of what the city is going to be,” he said.

The biggest challenge the city is facing is the ongoing economic crisis, Hageman said.

“Families, schools, government, everybody is facing the same thing, how to do more on less” he said.

This week is filing week. The deadline to file as a candidate for local offices is 4:30 p.m. Friday.

Other Woodinville positions up for election are Woodinville City Council Positions 2, 4 and 6.
