In spite of its reputation for damp weather, western Washington experiences thousands of wildfires. Most, like this summer's fires in Fall City and North Bend, are caught before homes are destroyed. But in dry, windy weather wildfire could quickly rage out of control. Communities such as Carnation Fall City, Snoqualmie, North Bend, Black Diamond and Covington are at particular risk because of their exposure to strong east winds that blow down from the Cascades in the summer.

Be ready. Firefighters do not have the resources to defend every home during a wildfire. Personal responsibility is key in being ready for emergencies. Protect your home and family by taking simple steps to becoming "Firewise."

Cost: The workshop is free. All materials, snacks during breaks and lunch are provided.
