Matson Resigns: Woodinville Water Board Seeks Applicants

Tim Matson has resigned from the Woodinville Water District and they are now seeking applicants for appointment to the five-member Board of Commissioners.

Due to the resignation of Commissioner Tim Matson, the Woodinville Water District is seeking applicants for appointment to the five-member Board of Commissioners, according to a post on the district's website.

Matson said at the Feb. 19 Board meeting and he had accepted a job outside of Washington and that he would be resigning soon after the meeting.

The successful applicant will be appointed by the existing Board to complete Commission Matson’s term, which expires December 31, 2013. In order to continue serving on the Board beyond December 31, 2013, the successful candidate would be required to run for election during the general election in November 2013 for a six-year term beginning January 1, 2014.

Following are statutory minimum requirements for the position:

  • Reside within the geographic boundaries of the District at least 30 days prior to appointment;
  • Properly registered to vote within the geographic boundaries of the District.

Interested applicants should submit a resume and Letter of Interest to the District no later than 4:30 p.m. on March 29, 2013.

The Board may shortlist and interview applicants prior to making its appointment decision.
