What Do You Want to Know About Tehaleh, Formally Cascadia?

Bonney Lake-Sumner Patch editor Lauren Padgett asks, what you want to know about the largest development project in Pierce County?

Hi Readers,

Just on the outskirts of Bonney Lake, . Formally , the extensive mixed-use development will bring 6,500 new residences into the local fold, encompassing over 5,000 acres.

It's the largest development project in Pierce County's history.

A year ago today, . Since then, and have renamed it Tehaleh, Chinook jargon for “high ground, superior land or land of the gods."

Developers plan to have model homes available for viewing by July.

I'm sitting down with the project managers from Newland next week to get an update on the project and learn more about their plans. What do you want to know about the project?

I want to gather some community questions to bring to the table. Are you concerned about the impacts on local traffic? How many jobs are they bringing to town? Did they hire local contractors?

I know this is just the tip of the iceberg. Leave your questions for Newland Real Estate in the comments section below and I'll be sure to ask them and update you on the project next week.

Thanks for reading!

Can you tell me who the builders are? I know that Newland is the developer, and Rushforth is building the Welcome Center.

When I met with them last week, Newland wasn't ready to release their finalized builder list, but they promised that as soon as they could, they would let us know! Expect our story next week.

I remember mountain biking in bonney lake every day when I was younger, now the trails are gone thanks to Cascadia. Are they going to leave ANY trees standing in bonney lake or do they just plan to keep chopping down every square inch so they can make a buck? The alure of bonney lake WAS the forest, the quiet, and the spetacular views. Now ot's bare hills and houses. Thanks alot for distroying my home!

Is this across from Golden Valley? Golden Valley is a 55+ manufactured housing park in unicorporated Pierce County. It is near Marris Farms. Currently there is a cow pasture across the street. Something is going in there. Do you know what it is if it isn't this development?
