Woodinville Open House to Review Comprehensive Stormwater Management Plan

The city wants community input.

The City would like to hear your ideas regarding the Woodinville Comprehensive Stormwater Management Plan at an upcoming Open House on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 17301 133rd Avenue NE, Woodinville, WA.

The City is in the process of approving the Comprehensive Stormwater Management Plan and would like to gather input from Woodinville citizens regarding the plan.  During the Open House, the public will have the opportunity to ask questions from staff regarding the plan, and to gather information on how the plan is used.  Comments received during the Open House will be shared with the City Council and included in the public record.  To view a copy of the current Stormwater Master Plan, visit the City’s website at www.ci.woodinville.wa.us/Live/StormWater.asp.

The Comprehensive Stormwater Management Plan outlines the protection of the quality and quantity of water in waterways, wetlands, flood plains, and watersheds from degradation.  The City has six drainage basins, some with salmon-bearing streams, numerous wetlands, Lake Leota, and State designated shoreline areas on the Sammamish River and Little Bear Creek.  The quality and containment of these waterways influence citizens’ quality of life.  The plan also identifies infrastructure improvements that address various issues, (such as flooding) with the current stormwater system.
