Early in the first quarter Eastlake jumped ahead 8-0, scoring a touchdown off a 20-yard pass from quarterback Blue Thomas to running back Drew Lewis and then converting on a 2-pt conversion after the touchdown.

The first was off a 6-yard run by Alek Kacmarcik with 7:48 on the clock and the second a 54-yard pass from quarterback Caleb Hamilton to wide receiver John Villaseñor to make the score Woodinville, 13-8.

“I was supposed to run a skinny post which is 15 yards break it off towards the goal post and Caleb just dropped a dime to me. It was perfect; it couldn’t have been any better,” said Villaseñor.

With momentum going into the second quarter, Woodinville’s defense were the ones to step up and hold Eastlake scoreless for the rest of the half, complete with a Dane Hawkins interception with 1:09 left to go in the first half.

“[The defense] knew [Eastlake’s] best player was their running back so we were just keying off of him,” said captain Parker Moore.

Adding onto the domination by the Falcon’s defense, Woodinville’s offense ended up scoring both a touchdown and a field goal before halftime to make the score Woodinville, 23-8.

Woodinville’s late second quarter touchdown pass came off of a 32-yard run by Niko Liera and the field goal was made by Connor Zaback with seconds left to go in the first half.

The third quarter was fairly uneventful until 3.1 seconds left, Alek Kacmarcik had a 35-yard interception return for a Falcon touchdown; making the score Woodinville, 30-8.

Woodinville continued to keep Eastlake scoreless in the second half until 2:41 left in the fourth when they scored on a 14-yard run by running back Josh Horton.

By this time the game was over, Eastlake had put in their backups, and Woodinville fans were ready to celebrate another Falcon victory.

As the time expired and the scoreboard reading a bright 30-15 in favor of Woodinville, the Falcons started to celebrate their win and Woodinville’s now 5-1 record.

“We wanted to beat Eastlake by multiple touchdowns and we wanted a shutout, but overall, we still played well so we are happy with that,” Moore said.

Woodinville's Hamilton went 10 for 20 for 169 yards and explained their goal was to execute in the first half, score touchdowns and dominate the game.

Hamilton was quick to give acknowledge the Falcons offensive line in post-game interviews.

“The main factor was the o-line. I had all the time in the world back there and I give all props to them.”

The next game is Friday, Oct. 12, at Redmond High School at 7 p.m. where the Falcons will try and continue to keep their winning streak alive. Make sure to come out and support!
