Democracy at Risk? Getting Beyond Resignation to Address Campaign Reform

This ASJ*-sponsored event has been expanded to include listening to the State of the Union Address and sharing pizza, salad, and dessert before the “Democracy at Risk?” panel and discussion. (If the Address is perchance postponed, we’ll go ahead with both the dinner and the panel discussion as scheduled.)

So, stop on by at WUUC a little before 6 pm to watch the President’s address; share pizza, salad, and dessert; and then participate in the “Democracy at Risk?” event.  Make an evening of it!  Or you can just drop by for the panel starting around 7:20.

Many observers of the November 2010 election cycle found serious flaws and have recommended reforms to improve future elections.  This month also is the first anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission decision, which some believe allows corporations to spend unlimited amounts of money to influence elections.  Learn more about the issues and the reform proposals at the “Democracy at Risk?” panel and discussion.
