Vicki Puckett is the new principal of following a unanimous vote by the Mercer Island School at a March 22 meeting.
Puckett a former principal of, leaves her current post as director of Northshore School District’s alternative education programs, including the Secondary Academy for Success.
"Welcome Vicki Puckett to the ," said MISD Superintendent Gary Plano, who also commended the new principal for the positive comments her former students shared about her.
"It was a hard decision leaving Northshore," said Puckett. "What I learned most about Mercer Island is the way the community feels for, and the support the community has for students ... I know Mercer Island is a high performing school wonderful and I really appreciate the opportunity."
She will replace interim principal Pat Blix, who took over from former principal John Harrison last fall to take an administrative role with the Bellevue School District.
