Holiday Season Kick-Off at Molbak’s This Weekend Benefiting Northshore Students

The Northshore Schools Foundation will receive a percentage of all sales Nov. 11 – 13.

is kicking-off the holiday season this weekend with special events and a fundraiser for the Northshore Schools Foundation.

Students from the Northshore Teaching Academy will supervise a free children’s craft area from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., from Friday through Sunday, along with a cookie decorating station and holiday card writing, with cards designed by art students that will be delivered to our military service men and women.

The entire event is coordinated by the students of the Northshore School District’s Event, Hospitality and Tourism Management a high school Career Technical Education course in the Northshore District.

“I am extremely proud of the students in our Event Planning Class who have worked diligently coordinating this event and have generated a wide assortment of support from students and programs throughout the district,” said Geoffrey Gilmore, instructor of the class.  “We are excited to be involved in showcasing the talents of Northshore students.”

There will also be art displays from area elementary schools featuring the artist’s favorite season of the year and what they like best about that season.

Molbak’s will donate 3% of sales to the Foundation. Last year that amount resulted in $3,754 to the Northshore Schools Foundation, according to Lisa Moses, events and marketing manager for Molbak’s. “This year the event is now 3-days due to Veteran’s Day on Friday, so I hope the donation will greatly increase.”
