What is the primary reason you are running for this office?

What is the primary reason you are running for this office?

I am running for this office to:

  1. Enhance an atmosphere of collaboration and consensus among board members and between board members, administration and staff
  2. Support equity and optimum achievement of all students to better ensure their success in life.
  3. To honor and respect the role that each of us, including parents and community plays in an education partnership.

What will be your top three priorities if you get elected and why?

  1. To ensure that Northshore’s curriculum keeps students engaged.  Students study harder and are more passionate about education when they are engaged and challenged.
  2. To ensure that parents have every opportunity to be engaged in their child’s education. Successful academic outcomes require involved parents.
  3. To ensure that educators receive the support they need to provide a positive and innovative educational environment as well as enhance their own learning through continuing education.

What sets you apart from the other candidates and/or previous office holders?

  1. As a previous Northshore Board member with 16 years of experience, I understand the impact of board decisions from the classroom to the state. I am a strong advocate of collaborative decision-making and am skilled at reaching consensus on controversial issues. History will show that I always take the time to listen to my stakeholders. That said, my responsibility as a board member is to weigh all input and ultimately make what I believe to be the best decision possible, knowing that while it may not satisfy all parties it is what is best for all students.
  2. I am a well respected educational leader with strong working relationships at both the local and state level.

How much money do you expect your campaign to spend on this election?

$10,000.
