No Drugs Found at Woodinville High School During Routine Search

K-9 unit turned up its nose during a search Wednesday found no drugs on campus.

A routine drug search at Woodinville High School Wednesday was a bust for the presence of drugs, according to Vicki Puckett, principal of the school.

“This was a routine search, we do one to four times a year,” she said. “It’s a district wide program to ensure our schools stay safe and drug free.”

Wednesday’s search was the first one conducted this school year, Puckett added. School parents were notified via email that the search occurred.

Drugs are not unknown at area high schools, in February 2010, 11 students were arrested at Redmond High School on drug charges after selling a variety of drugs to undercover police officers.

“I’m sure some kids are doing drugs,” Puckett said. “But there is not a problem on campus. The random searches let students know we have a safe campus environment.”
