Northshore Schools Earn 2011 Washington Achievement Awards

The nine Northshore schools that 2011 Washington Achievement represent elementary, junior high and high schools.

 

Schools are selected based on their statewide assessment data for the three previous years. This data is analyzed using the Achievement Index and methodology approved by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) and State Board of Education (SBE). Schools are recognized for top performance in seven categories: overall excellence, language areas, math, science, extended graduation rate improvement (high and comprehensive high schools only) and closing achievement gaps.

Representatives from these schools will be honored at a ceremony on April 25 at Mariner High School in Everett, Wash.

Elementary

  • Crystal Springs Elementary School, closing achievement gaps
  • Maywood Hills Elementary School, closing achievement gaps
  • Kenmore Elementary School, overall excellence and closing achievement gaps
  • Sunrise Elementary School, overall excellence
  • Wellington Elementary School, overall excellence
  • Woodin Elementary School, overall excellence and closing achievement gaps

Junior High

  • Northshore Junior High School, closing achievement gaps
  • Canyon Park Junior High School, closing achievement gaps 

High

  • Inglemoor High School, overall excellence and Math
