Northshore Schools Foundation Annual Fundraiser Announced

Local students and television personalities will perform and speak at the April 26 luncheon.

The Northshore Schools Foundation 8th Annual Light a Fire for Learning Luncheon will be Tuesday, April 26 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at the Lynnwood Convention Center.

Third grade students from Woodin Elementary will sing under the direction of Heather Arnold who received a 2007 grant from the foundation. The Orchestra will also perform for the 500 guests anticipated to attend, according to Carmin Daziel, executive director of the Foundation. The music program at Leota received two cellos purchased with foundation funds in 2005 and 2006.

Ingelmoor senior, Claire Mortimore was asked back again this year to be student speaker after her successful speech last year. Ingelmoor received grants for heart monitors for P.E. classes and the robotics classes.

This year’s keynote speaker is Jim Dever, host of King 5 Evening Magazine. Andy Wappler of  Puget Sound Energy will act as emcee along with Dale Amundsen Evergreen Washelli.  The Foundation hopes to raise more than $100,000 at the luncheon.
