Northshore Schools Foundation Launching Milk Money Fundraiser

Just drop your spare change in the milk bottles at Woodinville and Bothell businesses.

Three moms are spending their Mothers Day weekend raising money for the Northshore Schools Foundation. The fundraising campaign, dubbed Milk Money, is to support both academic and parent engagement programs in the Northshore School District.

Davina Duerr, Sara Hayashi and April Remfrey are the creative force behind, Milk Money. Milk bottle jars will be at participating business in Bothell and Woodinville with signs on them asking people to drop in their spare change.

“To me Milk Money is about the power of individuals to make a difference,” said Davina. “Three mothers over tea decided they saw a need to stop talking and start doing. By educating the community and asking everyone to literally pitch in small change we can make a big difference.”

Milk Money will be kicked off at the Foundation’s upcoming luncheon fundraiser on April 26.  Volunteers will be collecting change for Milk Money at the Woodinville on Saturday, May 7th and at Woodinville on Saturday, May 14 and May 21.  Milk Bottle collection bottles can be found at local supporting retailers including Alexa’s Café in Bothell, Banner Bank and Shannon’s Flowers in Bothell.

"What an amazing community we have,” said Karissa Webster, Northshore Schools Foundation co-president. “Three moms get together over a cup of tea and create an idea that the whole community enthusiastically embraces. This is how little seeds grow into mighty oaks."
